On September 27, Malaysia Kitchen for the World hosted the ultimate street food celebration: the first-ever Malaysia Noodle Festival, featuring a variety of Malaysian noodle dishes by restaurants in New York City and the Tri-State area. Attracting hundreds of hungry New Yorkers on their lunch break, the Noodle Festival featured classic Malaysian noodle dishes from Laksa soups to stir fries, and was set in the vibrant setting of the Chelsea Triangle in the Meatpacking District (14th St. and 9th Ave), surrounded by colorful tents, umbrellas and lanterns reminiscent of the open-air markets of Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
