A large colored mural of Kuala Lumpur covers most of one interior wall of the uptown branch of Fatty Crab on Broadway. In the back, a handsome bar has 11 seats where guests can enjoy cocktails and eat, as well. If the music is decidedly not Malaysian, the spicy Penang Dorade is authentic: it is cooked on banana leaf with shrimp paste and coconut. Fatty Crab’s signature boldly seasoned hard-shelled chili crab is a hands-on eating activity. It is nicely complemented by green mango salad with peanuts.
