Sanur
Other Restaurants in Manhattan
Pleasing hungry travelers in Chinatown for more than 16 years, Sanur is well worth the search on tiny, curving Doyers Street. It may startle westerners wandering in from Chatham Square to find a modest takeout store. Ah, but descend a small stairway to the roomy, air-conditioned dining room. Glass tops cover vibrant ethnic tablecloths, the wait staff is cordial and a skilled kitchen can dazzle with a full range of Malaysian dishes. Living up to its name is “Delectable Crab in Special Malaysian Sauce,” rich in sweet roasted coconut. Sanur roasts skate or stingray in banana leaf, as well.
